“Uh, guys, I hate to break it to you, but before
we can go anywhere, we need to know where
we’re going.” I told Lucian and Rosen. They looked disappointed. “I need to
go home soon, and when I get in, I’ll search him up, see if I can get any idea
where he is.”
“Thanks Robyn, you’re the best.” Rosen hugged me. It felt so special, like I
finally meant a lot to someone, and even better that it was Rosen. I didn’t
know what Lucian looked like right now, but he didn’t sound too happy when we
broke away.
“See you tomorrow, Robyn. Meet us in the library in town tomorrow. You’ve got
school, haven’t you?”
I nodded, “I can skip it if you want, it’s not like I want to go.”
“That would be better, say 9 am?”
“Deal. Bye guys.” I kissed them both on the cheek, and left them be.
I was running away with two guys I’d met today. I was definitely crazy.
When I got home, I prepared myself for the lecture of a lifetime. I was
pleasantly surprised that my mum didn’t care, and my dad wasn’t home. Shaylie
however, was a different matter. She’d found the doll I’d defaced last night,
and she was not a happy bunny. I apologized, and she left me alone. I went
straight to my room to do some research on Rosen’s dad.
After at least an hour, I finally found something, but it was about his runaway
sisters.
‘Erin Clay, 10, was reported missing last night, claiming she ran away after
her sister who was also reported missing last week. It is unlikely the duo will
be found. The search for Olivia and Erin Clay has begun, however it is short
lived as the body of a young girl fitting the description of Erin was found
near-‘
I couldn’t bring myself to read the last part. I didn’t really want to know
that Rosen’s sister was dead. I wondered if Rosen knew that she was gone, and I
didn’t want to be the one to break the news to him. I continued to search for a
Mitchel Clay, but I was falling asleep. I dragged myself into my warm,
comfortable bed, and drifted off into a calm dream.
One minute I was in Italy with Lucian and Isabella, then in another I was back
on the bench with Rosen. The last part of the whole dream was Shay running
away, Simon and I fighting, and a gunshot. I woke up with my heart beating out
of my chest. I was hot and sweaty, so I took a shower and tried to forget about
my dream, and focus on the day ahead.
I packed another outfit which I could change into, but I decided on meeting the
boys in my uniform. I didn’t take anywhere as near as much food as I did
yesterday, but I still took my lunch and some snacks for Rosen and Lucian. I
left a little bit earlier than usual, but I figured that my parents wouldn’t
notice.
On my way to the library, I thought about how I would break the news to my
family that I was running away. Leave a note? A phone call? Leave without notice?
I imagined Shay’s face as she found a note, or received the call. She would be
devastated – heartbroken even.
